This custom ceramic chawan, or matcha bowl, was designed in collaboration with the tea experts at Passenger Coffee of Lancaster, PA. The design honors the tradition while keeping a modern look. The bowls feature a two-tone design where the interior is finished with a glossy black glaze, which folds over to the exterior, where it’s met with a raw speckled stoneware finish.

Handmade with lots of love in my home studio in Lancaster, PA. I strive to create quality pieces and aim for consistency in every series, however as each piece is handmade, there will be slight variations in the forms and glazes. These small details add character and life to the piece - I find beauty in the mark of a maker that often cannot be found in commercial dinnerware.

All pots are dishwasher and microwave safe, however, I would recommend handwashing to preserve the piece.
